any one ever use tx7?
so i work at jiffy lube + they have this product called tx7. it replaces one qt. of oil when you change it. it lowers the engine temp by 20 deg., improves gas mileage, improves performance + a bunch of other things. everyone that has used it can only say good things about it. so my question is has anyone used this in their rotary? can it be used in a rotary? i think it's only sold at jiffy lube + maybe walmart.

no clue ....
however, i dont think its ever been tested on a rotary engine.... and just like alot of brands of synthetic oils its probably not designed to "burn"
rotary engines naturally burn oil.. so that additive might cause carbon deposits in your engine!! which is a bad thing....
call the company and ask if its been tested on a rotary engine before?

they've tested it + proven that it does this. it says that because it lubricates things so well that the lack of friction drops the engine temp. *shrugs*

And you believe them? C'mon man...
Like I said, the engine temp is controlled by the thermostat. It regulates coolant flow through the radiator to keep the engine temp within a small window (typically 180-200degF in nornal driving). The only way the engine temp could drop 20deg is if it was running too hot in the first place, and if it was, nothing you pour into the oil is going to fix it.
If some little company was truely able to formulate an oil additive that does everything they claim, then so would the massive multinational oil companies. If that was the case, that stuff would already be in the oil you buy!
