any aftermarket replacement mufflers? NOT A CATBACK

I'm a little broke right now and looking to replace the mufflers on my car since my RB header with straight pipe ended up blowing the old mufflers to ****. I know RB has a set of mufflers you can buy that fit the stock location without needing a whole catback are there any other mufflers that fit as well on to the stock y-pipe. also would be nice to be able to withstand the heat of the rotary . don't really feel like replacnig mufflers every year or so with this just using a universial stock style muffler made for grandma's car.

you usually can buy them through a local autoparts place.
You also can google walker exhausts.

why not just go to an exhaust shop and ask for a used pair of mufflers that match

Walker or Bosal. They make stock fit parts.

cause they use just universial style mufflers that every car can fit and are cheap. and if my stock mufflers went good shape to rusted out and falling apart within a year of putting my header on I'm not too trusting of just some cheapo muffler lasting much longer.

that was the nice thing about the cats they helped the exhuast cool off a little before it hit the mufflers. header with straight pipe into the mufflers with the high exhuast temps of the rotary is not very easy on mufflers. plus if they are using fiberglass packing from my understanding is that will just burn out over short time.

jgrts20 wouldn't mind walker being they might actually be fairly quiet being they are an OEM style baffled design only thing is I'm not really wanting the baffled mufflers if I can get away with it. kinda defeats the point of having the header in a way :p but if need be I guess I can go that route.

inflatablepets the bosal I briefly looked at that muffler is it still a OEM style design or more free flowing?

half tempted just to go with the RB ones except I'm kinda broke but it would work. only other thing I can think of is wait till I get some money put together and just buy the RB true dual setup though I don't know how worth it that system would be.

does anyone have any REAL dyno results of false dual setup to a true dual setup?

I had the same thing happen with my RB header, I'm now running some Vibrant performance V8-style mufflers, they're slanted to fit between the heat shields, but it looks cool. Sorry, no pics, but the sound is bad ***.

well you said you didnt have much money so thats why I suggested it. If you want something better wait and save some money. My system costed about 650-700 from engine back. You could always piece something together also. Thats my .02!!

I've actually been thinking of that. almost tempted just to put a cherry bomb in place of my straight pipe right after the header just to tone it down a little till I can get something.

just out of curiosity do they not sell the dual N1 exhuast anymore? the only ones I see are the single exit or the dual muffler out of one side
