I dont even know how it works, if my car has one etc. either way I would just cut the door hinge wires that should stop it from working

the thing is the original radio for the car is gone, and i think that has something to do with the alarm acting funny,i'll lock my doors, and the alarm activates, then i go to unlock the door to get back in and it the horn goes crazy, lights are flashing and everybody's looking at me.
i unhook the negative battery terminal and it stops, but i can't be doing this every time i lock my car.
i can cut the wires but theres wires hooked to everything ,not only the doors.
has anyone had this problem before
does anyone know what to disconnect to stop this alarm ,my car doesn't have power door locks,so there's gotta be somehting you can cut?
when i bought this car the guy said watch out for the alarm, now i know what he was talking about!

what kind of crappy advice is that???

WTF????

Why did you even reply with something like that? That is the worst reply this month, and borderlines on the worst reply this year so far.

The factory alarm system has nothing to do with the factory or any aftermarket radio.

The factory alarm system is very simple. You disarm it by puttint the key in to any door or the trunk and turning the key to the unlock position.

If your factory alarm is not disarming by unlocking with the key on an outside opening, there is a chance the switches have been damaged or hacked up (probably by some idiot cutting all the wires to the door).

You didn't say what year or model car you have. If you have a S4 (86-88) the factory alarm system can be unplugged (but you should really fix the car instead). If you have a S5 (89-91), the alarm is bult into the body computer (CPU) and again requires you to fix the car. You can partially unplug the CPU on S5 models, but you will loose some of the other functions of the car when you disable the alarm.

Either way the factory alarm is vastly superior to most aftermarket alarm systems, and is very simple to fix and operate, so if you are having issues with it not working correctly, then you should fix the switches that are causeing the problem rather than removing the system.

i had the drivers door panel off and there is a connector, that was hanging, causing the window to get caught on this and not go down.that probably the door switch, alarm thing, that is making this alarm work bad.but i think the door handle was replaced,i'll have to take a look and see, cause if i can get the alarm system to work, great. and my car is the s5,1990.
the guy i bought this car from totally srewed this car up,trying to fix this problem.
mechanically the car works good, it just has all these little electrical problems,i'll take my time and fix these problems as i go.and not my cutting wires, that what
f--cked this car in the first place.

i sold my hoda cicic to buy this car,and i'm loving it. its seems to want to take the gas though.this car is gonna be work in progress.

thanks for the good info.
jay.

Yep probably the door switch. You should have also been able to dis-arm by unlocking the passengers door with the key, or the trunk/hatch.
