i beg to differ...the positive pressure created that sucks the air out isnt due to the lip...it aids it but not entirely due to it by any means. the positive airflow is created by the front of the car hitting the air and the air moving upward and back. if you want i can show you the airflow chart

I really like the hood, except for the two rear vents. I was looking for a hood with similiar vents to the two large ones you put on the front. I just think that the 2 rear ones give it a little too much. What would you charge, after delivery to make me something SIMILIAR to the one shown but witout the rear vents??

What I would really like to see, is a vent (or small vents) above the turbo/dp location.
That is where the most heat is generated.
Unless of course, putting the vents there, won't really do anything based on the whole air pressure differential stuff that I don't know about

I don't understand how vents facing that way work... the movement of the car wouldn't allow air in through the gap in the bonnet... isn't that the purpose of the bonnet scoop? To peel air off and feed it to the intake? Does this work as an exit for the air coming up through the front?

if you look at the airflow chart there is a low pressure are over the vents and actually the airflows outwards as the air flows back over the hood because of this, and a front facing scoop at this point wouldnt do a whole hell of a lot. T2 scoops arent as functional as you think. As far as making another one id do it for 400 which is damn cheap, but right now i have alot going on and i have this prototype pretty much done except for the finishing touches and i need the money back out of it for my honeymoon in paris at the end of the month so i want to get rid of it and Ill make another when i get back, so 385 without the shipping takes this one.

i wanna see it finsihed to only problem is that I am on the broke boat now paying airfare and all and my plan was to make this and mold it and sell them, but i wanna get my money back out of it, so ill sell this one and make more at some other time. The only thing left to do is to clean up the underside with some wetsand and some icing to hide the mat and clean up the vents with some ice and sand. Ice is expensive ($20, yes im really that broke) so ill finish it if someone wants it.

I think that hood looks really good. Considering that rotaries generate so much heat, you'd think there would be more "vented hood" designs...but there aren't. Of the few out there i'd have to say i like your design the best.
BTW, on that aerodynamic flow profile pic, do those arrows represent the magnitude of the pressure or what?

thanx for the props. i feel satisfied now that i made something that i think looks good and is really really lightweight. You are correct on the airflow chart, except for the second one where i put the AOL highspeed, that really has an effect, but its only for the internet

i just think that the rear vents give a little too much... If you would take out the rear vents, i would buy the hood. Im getting my car painted in a month and a half and I could really use a custom hood........ Let me know

i would definitely consider making a mold and selling copies but right now i need the cash for other things. So crickifur check ur PM's. Anyhow my main concern is getting rid of the prototype so i can recoup some cash and when i get back from paris im making a full on bodykit for the car when i have some cash flow. So no more rear vents. And RXhaven7 you are right and thats why i started making this stuff because its non existant, and i wanted to sell it cheap cuz other wise u have to pay over 1000 bux for this stuff. So keep an eye out in the future for me to offer stuff as inexpensively as possible, as it is a hobby and not a business.
