Another 6 ports question

I did the 6 ports mod where they run off the acv exhaust at 3800 rpm. Works wicked except i have 1 concern. Since at 3800 rpm the pressure is fairly high at the air pump exhaust, what happens at 7500rpm as I had to block part of the exhaust off to get enough pressure at 3800rpm??? At first i used zip ties and the pressure blew the hoses off. Now i use metal clamps but will the pressure damage the air pump? Will I lose horsepower cause of the drag/strain on the pump from running high pressures?

Just a thought. I do not think the airpump puts out squat in terms of real pressure. Can't say for certain. Never put a gauge on it. Why don't you just disconnect the exaust hose for it and rev it up with your thumb covering the hole. Bet even money it can't even blow your finger off the hole. I'll do this myself someday just to see, but not today or tomorrow. I'll try to remember this post and let you know. If it can't even blow your finger off, then I'd say it cannot harm a thing. The biggest sweat concerning the acv is the relief solenoid diaphram being damaged due to the heat. On two turbo acv I checked, the diaphram was to be blunt, non resilent. They bake and develop minute cracks and will not hold a vaccum. Useless. EDIT....another mistake. Where I said *relief solenoid diaphram* should have said *switching solenoid valve diaphram*. Dumb mistake.

So if the solenoid diaphram gets damaged the acv exhaust wil be stuck open or closed?

Pardon me. I did not mean relief solenoid diaphram. I meant to say switching solenoid diaphram. The switching solenoid is over on the drivers side of the enginge. It, at times pulls a vacum on a part of the acv that is called the switching valve. The switching valve has a diaphram. This paper like diaphram does not get along well with extreme heat it appears to me. If the switching diaphram is no good, then at the times the switching valve should be sending air to the exaust ports, it won't. I'm going back now and edit that first post. Very sorry 'bout that.

Mr Jahoo88......I've found several ways to make the aux actuators work and copied a few. One of the first ways was a barbed tube stuck in the hose between the airpump and acv. Ran a hose from the end of the tube to the pipe that feeds the aux actuators. Then I pulled the two connectors off the water temp switch located at the botton of the radiator. When you do this the relief valve in the acv is relieving all the time, so what happens is the aux actuators do not open until about 3500-3800 rpm when the air pump is finally making enough pressure in that 1"hose between the air pump and the acv. Or in lieu of taking the water temp sw connectors off, just pull the BLUE connector off the relief solenoid on the drivers side of the engine. Then the relief valve on the acv is always open.
