annoying Rear view mirror.(*rant.etc).

Maybe it is Just Me,but I find that the placement of the Rear view mirror is Annoying, especially when looking towards the Right Front corner of the car.
I got the Idea today to take the damn Thing off and see if I can rectify the situation!.I found a 12 Inch Panoramic mirror that you place On over the regular Rear view.I am going to Mount that onto the Trim going across the inside of the Windshield(top).
I'll Try and get Photos when I am Done.
Has anyone else ever had the Same Feeling( stupid place to have the mirror located!),,and IF so,what did you do or use to Replace the Rear view mirror?.Thanks Guys.STYX!~
Edit: I am going to use something like THIS. http://www.racinglab.com/broadway-bw-703.html

the only problem i have is that you cant really see clearly as the mirror vibrates a lot as your driving. i somehow got my NA rear view mirror to mount on nicely after taking the unit apart. i saw the cars behind much more clearly. i thought it was odd that at first i couldnt see well but now i can see cars clearly.

well, good luck replacing that and do post up some pics. i think everyone will appreciate a find like this. since it doesnt come up often.

I found the placement and size of the rear view mirror to be a bit annoying when I bought my first FC (in 1995), but I'm pretty much used to it now. I think Mazda could possibly have gotten away with using a slightly smaller mirror, or maybe a thinner frame at least. It does create a blind spot depending on what's ahead and to the right. I've never really had the vibration issue in either of my cars.

i've taken the rear view mirror off all the cars i've owned.
i hate any and all things that get in the way of any of my vision.
i like the idea of those video cameras in the rear so you just look at a screen somewhere.

Ya,I am hoping the Mirror won't Vibrate.(It is gonna be Hard, also Priceless,as Everything in my Car vibrates, due to solid mounts,Coil overs,The Badly Pot-Holed Canadian Roads!,and so On!).
I "mocked up" the position of the Mirror and it Just FITS between the Visors,so I won't lose those,or have to shave the Clips for them.I am trying a direct mount approach and If that doesn't work,I'll Make a Mount out of some Scrap Metal.I am Mounting so I alone won't have to adjust it,But I may end up having t oat least give it some adjusting capabilities,In case MOM has to Take the Car to Get Groceries!..(Of Course I was just Kidding Guys..Jeesh!..)...Stay tuned.More to Follow after assembly!..STYX!~

I never liked the location of the rear view mirror either, so on my last FC, (and one day when this one is again drivable) I took a stock GM mirror and mounted it directly to the windshield.

Any autoparts store carries the glue to hold them on.
