Amazing, absolutely amazing....

Got a S4 turbo in the shop the other day, brought in idling high. I liked the car, so i made an offer. The guy jumped on it. Initial comp test showed a little low, but I was optimistic. The car would start cold and run at 3000, until warmup where it dropped to 2800 and stayed. I checked for vac leaks, timing marks, the works. I yanked the IC to check throttle closing, and found that someone screwed with the thermal pellet bad enough to hang the throttle. I dug around a little more and noticed the BAC adj. screw was cranked all the way in, and the a/f mix resistor had been monkeyed with. Put a new thermo pellet on the t/b and readjusted everything; I haven't seen one run this smooth in a long time.

It's amazing the hard work some people will do to avoid simple troubleshooting.

How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking?

Pics?

And it had better show up at the Dragon's Tail rotary meet in a few months...

thank you, i'm happier than hell over this one.

Just might ship it to NZ when I move, so I can beat up on pink S5's.
