alternator ground = b0rked
Ok the b terminal(ground) on my alternator basically shattered (I love mazda plastic). Would it be possible to order just a new terminal from the dealer? If not anyone got a parts car and willing to sell me the eterminal off the back of the alt?

You had me confused for a sec calling the B terminal the ground. That's the battery terminal, the alternator is grounded through its body.
It's highly doubtful Mazda would list that part seperately, so I think a trip to an auto electrician would be the best best, as they're likely to have lots of unrepairable alternators lying around. Otherwise try a wrecker.

you can just go to the electronics store and buy a ring terminal of the correct gauge. At least I think you can, I don't think it's any different from a standard ring terminal, except that it has the rubber boot over it.

Its not the ring terminal, its the actual plastic part on the back of the alternator, and there arent any 7's in any junkyard around here. I will call the dealer tomorrow and see if they can order just that piece.
paulc: I was asking if it was the ground, it was 4am question marks get lost =)

Its not the rubber boot type thing, its the part circled in the picture. I tried running the car with the connector just screwed down to the back of the alternator, without the plastic thing, the problem is there is no way to make the connection tite without the little plastic thing so my battery wasnt recharging. Thanks for all the help though, I sometimes forgot how useful you ****** can be
