all fluids

I recently purchased an 88 GXL with a drop in cone filter, custom exhaust and it has 187000 kilometers on it and I want to change ALL the fluids, the spark plugs and the fuel filter. ( is the fuel filter in as a hard to reach place as the FD?)oh and the ATF flush trick
so.
what is THE BEST
1. NON-synthetic engine oil
2.manual tranny oil
3.coolant ( if there even is better or worse brands?)
4.brake fluid ( im going to upgrade the pads later once i decide on ones that are better but not to hardcore)
5.rear diff fluid ( I have stock LSD)
6. oil filter
7. ATF to use for flush? or does it even matter?
8. spark plugs
9.OEM thermostat or just generic auto parts store one. i think mines goin, it goes to just under 1/2 then opens down to 1/3-1/4 ( on the temp gauge) to hard for me to judge
which leads me to the next things
I want an after market electronic temperature gauge and fuel pressure gauge what have you guys found works best?

1, Castrol gtx 20x50 or 10w30 depending on temp
2. Redline MT 90
3. Regular prestone green stuff (flush the radiator with the prestone super flush)
4. Not sure
5. Redline shockproof oil
6. OEM, K&N
7. ATF flush? Havent heard of that. ATF is usually only used to help start a flooded motor. There is a method to steam clean the internals of the engine. Search for "water trick"
8. stock NGKs (can be found at local autoparts shop for about $5) 2 of each BUR9EQ and BUR7EQ
9. OEM
10. No experience with that.

The Canadian section recently had a lengthy, and not always friendly discussion about using ATF to deal with carbon in the motor.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=251048

The conclusion? ATF does nothing for carbon removal. Your best shot at getting carbon out of your motor is the water trick.

There's a description of the water trick write up within the thread...

I was going to do the ATF more to regain lost compression rather than to clean up carbon, I suppose ill do the water thing to but as for now.....

I learned from Kevin (rotary resurrection) that ATF is fantastic to start a flooded engine, but the water trick kicks out the carbon.
I, too, have low compression (I think) did both of the above, don't think it helped much.
