Alarm
So I'm trying to install an aftermarket alarm for keyless entry into my 90 FC. The problem that I'm having is that I found a guide on doing such but the location of the brain is not where it's described. The article I found states that the alarm is behind the glovebox. What I found was the seatbelt control, a 4in speaker, and an amp. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's where the S4 alarm would be located but yours is an S5 and they are part of the CPU.

^ That's the ECU... It controls the engine.
The computer for the factory security system would have been next to that amplifier/4 inch speaker there under the glovebox.

only the S4s have the alarm brain under the dash, behind the glove box. On his S5 all the alarm functions are controlled by the CPU. This is right above the fuse box.
The CPU based alarm makes things a bit more dificult. With the S4, you can just cut all of the cables to the stock alarm. Then you just splice in the alarm wires. With the S5 you have to tap into the door, hatch, hood etc. The best way is to strip the covering off of the wires, then solder the alarm wires to the appropriate wire and shrink wrap.
If you only care about keyless entry and not about the alarm actually working. You can just get power/ground/acc hooked to the alarm brain, then run the door actuator(s) wire to the brain and presto! keyless entry. Plus no false alarms pissing off the neighbors.
