Air pump. Should I replace it?

It takes some effort to get mine to turn by hand. I'm assuming they should be easier to turn than this. When on the car it makes a whining noise similar to a supercharger and gets worse as I rev it up. I'm guessing a bearing is going out somewhere inside (if they have bearings) and I should replace it the whole thing. Any thoughts?

yep, just replace it... you probably are loosing a couple HP just by the bearing starting to go.

and check your belt tension... too tight belts are what causes the bearing to fail in the air pump, water pump and alt.
