air mass sensor swap from mustang???
I heard from several people you can get a air mass sensor from a 5.0 mustang and it will give more hp because it does not have the flap. Is this true and does it fit right on or modifications need to be made??

The Mustang airflow meter is a hotwire type AFM that measure mass flow, which is totally different to the flapper types which measure volume flow. The programming in the ECU is totally different. There is no way they can be swapped.

The simple answer is it will not work. The more complex answer is no one has figured it out for FC's yet. It is a somewhat common mod for Porsche 944's. and then have the flap type AFM. I am working on it, but I dont know how well, or even if it will work. But I havent had time to work on it in a while.

Umm, Mazdaspeed7, is that a huge pinstripe on your vert???
Anyways. It's too much work for 5 hp max- requires complete interuption and reinterpretation of the signal.
The signal is reversed in polarity, has different min and max values, and has a different proportional flow rate/voltage increase.
You figure it out!
And no, the TII sensor is different.
