Air Intake Temp sensor........
Ok I want to setup the intake sensor for testing later on this month. Where would be the best location for it? I was just thinking of putting the probe into the black hose right after the AFM But I need someones own experience. Also I was going to buy the one from CSI but would like to buy something a bit cheaper unless that is cheap. lol

I think for your experiment, right after the AFM would be best for comparison, maybe even at the entrance of the AFM, since you know the standard cone filter will take in engine bay temps. You could just leave the CAI on and still take both measurements (CAI intake temps, then engine bay temperature at the AFM).
Does that make sense?

Buy a Fluke 52II http://www.tequipment.net/FlukeThermo52.html

If this is to be a permanent fixture, it should be mounted as close to the engine as possible, but in a fast moving airstream. In the plastic intake pipe close to the TB would be best.
Try to find a gauge with a lower scale, like up to ~200degF. If the intake air on a NA gets that high you have problems, so 300degF is totally unnecessary.

What about a boost guage? I want to see if I can design a good ram air scoop to add to my intake. Maybe get like 1-2 PSI lol
By cheap and accurate I just mean which ones are GOOD but not 300 dollars(sarcasm).
Thanks

I use those for oil and water temp. I like them alot.

If you into DIY electronics, this is one I really like. The article also has some good info explaining why keeping intake temps as low as possible is so important.

A vendor asking how to install a guage?
Really, it would not be hard to install. You will need to install a sensor (I assume we are talking air temp) in the intake which probably involves drilling and tapping a hole in the manifold. Run the wires, mount the guage where you please (I like guage pods or the vents above the logicon) and connect things up.
Mechanical guages are generally cheaper, but electrical guages are more convenient to install since you are not running hoses and stuff. Both should be just as accurate if you buy quality parts.
