I basically use my horn in the event that someone has just done something so mind-numbingly stupid that I had to take severe evasive action to avoid getting hit. I like to make it clear to them that they almost plowed into someone, because obviously they weren't aware of it.

go find a horn setup from a 96 ford ranger... that's what i had and it was LOUD stock, more than enough to straigten up the "bad" driver but not enough to get you in trouble with the "law" and saves a lot of money.

i speed a lot too, but if someone's putting on their brakes (or slowing down) to slow ME down... i just work on getting around them and slowing down as well. in a few instances (with low enough traffic not to cause a huge problem) i've been known to come to a complete stop in front of someone. it gets the message across pretty well... i hardly ever use my horn to tell anyone that i thought what they did was wrong

Air horns are DOT approved. Muhahaha

Imagine the expression on peoples faces when they think that a freight train is about to run them over. Only to find out that it is a tiny mazda. Followed by flames if they really did something bad. The best anti-tailgater tool.

if you really wanted to be everyones hero, youd install strobes in your FTP lenses and red/blue strobed .. somewhere else, THEN install a kragen siren. that would get them out of your way.

Not everyone's late to work .I was pulled over by a State Trooper on 9-11 for doing 120
on South Capital Street and he let me go after I proved I had a legitamate reason for speeding.
You should always remember you don't know what's going on in the car behind you.
That person could be in a dire emergency.
I mean, I could be like my friend ****** and take your tail end out at 45 .The way he explains
it your already going slow enough were you would'nt flip your car and your spinning
around worried about your car where you would'nt be able to see his plates.

That's how road rage happens. Someone's already having the worst week, month, or year
possible and hear you come being the last straw

The one time I hesitated moving out of someone's way there was a 350Z with no lights on
going 60. I'm slowing about to stop ,he's not. He's honking. Luckly I see the sirens behind him and realize I'm about to be on World's Deadliest Crash, I move out of the way.
Yeah I slowed stopped on the side because the light red. This guy just in the Z just went through a red light a 60. He didi'nt hit anyone but I almost became apart of his very bad day.
well said man. exactly (kinda) what i was getting at. unfortunitally the world is full of ********.

Thanks Aaron. I have my horns laying in the same place. Just about to fab the bracket.

How loud is it outside?

I spend last night in DC, boy the horns at Conn and Western! After 33 years in Hawaii where no one used a horn it is sad all the folks here in Florida with RUDE driving habbits from other places...NYC, NJ...

BUT I want those trucks to hear me, even if they can not see me.

Sorry about the semi ressurection, but I just had to comment on this...

I really don't care if you think the horns are gay.
I have them on my car.
I put them on for a reason.

I got almost run off the road but some dumbass grandma who was driving and made a left turn into me.
I was on the straight.
I had right of way.
For some godknowwhatever reason, she decides to come out of the side street and make a left turn into me.
There is only one lane on the street I was travelling on.
As soon as I seen the minivan shoot out of the side street, I HELD my horn down.
I held it down for a good 5 seconds.
She didn't hear me.
This was the stock Mazda FC horns.
All the minivan's windows were up.
The other old lady was so frozen in fright, I saw her wide-eye'd and open-mouth'd expression sitting in the passenger seat staring at me in the window.
I had to drive onto the GODAMN sidewalk or else I would've gotten nailed.

The next day I put on the air horns.
I don't usually use my horn, but when I do THEY DO HEAR ME.
So I really don't care what you think of air horns.
They work for me.
I don't like getting runned off the road like that, and I don't want it to happen again.
So go **** (insert favorite 4 letter vulgarity in here, since I would probably get banned if I did type it) yourself if you don't like my air horns.

I live in redneck turf.
When some pickup comes through a red light or stop sign & you toot at him (or her) you're liable to get shot at.

If someone forces me to make a major evasive maneuver, I sometimes will hit the brakes hard enough to screech the tires.
That gets everyone’s attention.

Then you must carry a gun too?

I'm happy I'm not your tires...
Poor poor tires...
