Air flow meter bad 88 N/A - Replace or?

I have a bad air flow meter and it makes the car not start. Should I get another one or is there a way to bypass it with a after market air intake?

you can start the car without it.

it will rev up and then shut off though. the car needs the afm.

just replace it. as for aftermarket ways to bypass it, i have no clue.

Thx for the fast reply. The car was doing what you said, but then I messed with the afm more and it wouldn't start at all. I'll just get another one.
