How do you tell Factory air from Dealer air? The Carparts.com has expansion valves and they have one for Factory air and another for Dealer air. I have a Sanden compressor if it helps. 87 turboii. Thank you.

the receiver/drier canister is different. or I should say the bracket that holds it on is different. on factory AC it's a separate piece. on dealer AC the bracket is built in.

it may be that the sanden compressor is dealer, but i can't garauntee that. i know my 86gxl has a sanden, but my 10thae has a nippondenso.

From the current posts in this thread it seems I'm wrong, but I've been told (a long time ago) that all A/C was dealer installed.
