Aggressive clutches

I'm looking for a reccomendation for an aggressive clutch. I don't know too much about them I mean I know there are twin disc OS Giken $2000 clutches but that is out of my league. I'm looking for what type of clutch (sprung, unsprung, 6 puck, 4 puck etc) can sustain good abuse from drifting. Typically clutch kicking will glaze and hot spot clutches that can't handle the abuse and that is what I'm trying to avoid. Cheaper the better

Haha maybe 200 on a good day?

I've got nothing significant done to the engine, intake/exhaust and I run 10 pounds of boost.

I don't know much about drifting but I have some experience with extreme clutches. If you are running relativly stock power levels I would stay away from a higher pressure pressure plate and unsprung discs. I happen to have similar mods on my T2 and am using a ACT Xtreme pressure plate with an unsprung 6 puck disc on the street and it is a pain. I have had to learn how to drive all over again, not to mention fix a few problems caused by the Xtreme plate. I wouldn't recommend anything like this setup, as it is meant to handle alot more power.

If your doing any in town driving w/ the car a 4 puck sux... I managed to get a JDM engine w/ an almost brand new 4 puck and I am actually not happy about it lol. Grips like no other but makes for an extremely jerky ride and does not like to slip for a smooth start off. Im just about ready to trade for a regular performance street clutch lol.

This car is definitly a commited track car but I see your point. Makes it sound unpleasent to drive at all haha. So that being said maybe an OE exedy would suffice? Stage 1 I think it's called

I would say something like that would be great good. If you had a lot more power maybe not but for what you have your probably good. Mine grips enough to hold the engine at 4500 rpm at 40mph in 3rd gear and dump the clutch and chirp the tires lol.

for something that sees track time, or an "aggressive" clutch as you call it, i would go with a sprung 6-puck. a bit grippier than a disc, but the springs wont make it a nightmare on the street.

Word life. I'm going do a little more research and buckle down on something, I hear of some people running OE **** and killing it with no problem so we'll see. Thanks guys.

Don't use an ACT extreme pressure plate unless you have a good reason. The Heavy Duty one works just fine until you start making some serious power, like 550+.

You'll end up killing clutch forks, pivot *****, slaves and master cylinders with the extreme.

I like the ACT sprung 6 puck and HD pressure plate combo.

What does that usually run? I was leaning towards the exedy due to the pricing

$355-420 depending on where you look.

Here's the ACT part number: Z65-HDG6

A super agressive clutch will only hot spot faster. With your power levels I would go with a disc style clutch, heavy duty pressure plate and a medium weight flywheel(~12lbs).

Thanks for the info...flywheels a whole different game with counterweights and such I was just gonna stick with OE. Probably gonna go with a hd exedy set up, commonly found on egay.
