Aftermarket Alarm

Hey Everyone,

I am in the middle of installing an aftermaket alarm on my 88 Vert. Anyone have any idea on which wires are what on the ignition column. I am trying to get the wires run for the auto start.

Just thought I would see if anyone did this already and can help me out before I start tapping everywhere and start blowing fuses.

Help Please!!!

You shouldn't even start something like this without a full vehicle wiring diagram. Go to www.iluvmyrx7.com/2nd_gen_manuals.htm and download the Factory Service Manual (FSM) in PDF format for free. For this you need the Wiring Diagrams and Body Electrical chapters. There's a good picture of the ignition switch wiring on page 15-9 of the Body Electrical chapter.

Diagram

Well the good news is that I got the diagram. I did an alarm previousely before with no problems being that I had a diagram of all the wires. I did download the factory manual from Iluvmyrx7.com. I was not too comfortable with it being that it did not give the details that I needed.

I will try and finish up the alarm this week see if I can get it working the way I want.

Thanks everyone for all the help. The individuals in this forum really do help each other.

What was it you needed? I'd be surprised if it's not in there but it can be tricky to locate sometimes.
