![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
The readings on my digital Cyberdyne gauge have been erratic since last Friday. The change happened literally overnight - the previous day it was fine and normal.
Short version - the temp will read at a normal level around 190-197F and then suddenly plummet from anywhere between 5F and 40F, and then climb back up again by 1F-2F per second until it gets back up to a normal reading. The stock gauge continues to behave normally...
Has anyone else experienced this kind of failure? The gauge is less than a year old (August 2004,) so it's hard to accept that it just up and died. But the only other explanations that I can think of are:
- failing thermostat
- gauge's temp sensor somehow has goop/crap on it and it's fudging the readings
I've been a bit busy driving the car to try to keep a more detailed track of just what circumstances the temp readings dive.![Frown](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I'm prepared to get another one - I certainly can't keep this one if it's f**ked up. I just want to know if anyone else has seen this kind of prob, or knows someone who has, and what they did?

Thought I'd post some follow-up. Is it too soon? ![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I called Cyberdyne, they said to ship everything back to them. The lady on the phone didn't ask any questions and they shipped a replacement out promptly. 5 years later and no new problems.
