Advancing timing on a streetport ?

Im have my timing advanced but after I streetported the engine during a rebuild I realized that the lower secondary port on the 6 port housing , when grinded lower its like advancing the timing or something. Anyways is this true and will I have to retard the timing to prevent detonation?

No you will not have to retard the timing. The port timing and the ignition timing have nothing to do with each other in those terms.
