Question Add coolant buzzer....only on sharp turns??

Well, title pretty much says it all. Whenever I make a really sharp turn, or launch hard, or do anything very abrubtly, sometimes even hard-shifting to 2nd, my add coolant buzzer will come on for a second. I've bled the system so its not that, I have no idea what would cause it to do this. Any help please?

Well I hate to say it but this could be really bad.
It is possible that you need to get your engine rebuilt.
It sounds like you may have a crack in a O ring in your engine.
Sport Compact car has a project fd and they show a good example of what this could be. I think that it was july's issue but I know it was recent.
But as we all know with 7's it could be anything!!! Which is one reason why we love our cars!

Umm.. my engine as a little over 10,000 miles on it. It's not an engine problem. It's just the coolant sloshing around and setting off the buzzer... oh ****.

wait now that I think about it it might be the OIL buzzer.. don't remember. Just you said sharp turns and buzzer. .... I'll have to take some turns tonight

That’s what I was thinking. Low oil level (but still above the MIN line) will cause the light/buzzer to come on briefly during sharp or hard turns, often too quick to pick exactly which light it was. Check your oil.

Ive had my oil buzzer come on only on real sharp, high speed turns though.

I immediately checked the oil and it was a bit low, but def. above the acceptable level. I topped it off and no more problems.

Check your dummy lights when you turn your car on to see which one it looks like it went off

That happened to me once, so i went home and topped everything off and I havent had it again. I would guess you are just barely over the min line.

I cannt quite grasp how you can mix the two idiot lights: one is like Aladin's lamp, and the other is like a house (or Parthenon, if you are Greek ). The buzzer is the same, I'll give you that, but the lights are different.

You can see if you can take a sharp turn where you know the angle, so you can pay more attention to the idiot cluster. However, its easier to just top off everything in your engine oil, coolant, dot4 fluid

When you're looking out the windscreen and you see a little red light little red light flash on, but it's gone by the time you've looked over, it's a bit hard to tell the difference between a little lamp and a little house...

I beg to differ sir

I get the "little red light" flash almost all the time due to the stupid "headlight washer fluid reservoir sensor warning light" (****, that was long ! ), I have gotten the "low coolant warning light" a few times, and the little oil light a couple of times (although I'll admit this was very brief and only during startup).

I dont think these are "mixable"

Hmm....never thought It may be the oil light. Yes, my washer fluid light comes on too, but there is no buzzer for that, so I dont really care I've never had my oil light come on before so I wasn't even aware that there was a buzzer for it. I just heard the buzzer and saw a little red light for a second, just assumed it was coolant. OK, I'll check to see exactly what buzzer it is, and Im due for an oil change anyway (its been 2000 miles )so Ill top it off too. Thanks

The washer fluid warning is orange, so it's harder to mistake. The oil and coolant warning lights are both red, so if you just see one briefly flash on in your peripheral vision, there're difficult to differentiate.

Well I checked it out today, and it turns out that it was the oil buzzer and not the coolant buzzer . Oh well, Ive never had the oil buzzer go off before so I didnt even think of that. I did an oil change and its all good now, I guess it was just a tad low. thanks !

Yet again, the differences between US and EU are here to confuse us

The washer fluid light is also red in my TII. I think that my Oil light is orange, but I have to check again to make sure. In any case, they are in different spots (although some cm apart), so how can you mix them ?

Anyway, since this turned out to be the Oil light, and he doesnt get it anymore, all's cool

Mine's JDM, so it's probably different again! I've only got 9 lights as opposed to the 12 in US cars.

All my lights are red except the low fuel and low washer fluid, which are orange.

I think we're gonna have to agree to disagree about this! I'll just reiterate the bit about the light flashing briefly when you're not looking directly at it...

I just went down to Oracle's parking lot to check my idiot lights

I have the full array, except that I havent seen the "Check Engine" light up EVER, and also the "Hatch Ajar" light doesnt seem to work at all.

Oil, Coolant and Washer Fluids are all red lights

Hope this clears things up.

Heh, my CE light is completely periodic. Works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. Normally if I beat up the dash a lil (I know, not the best thing) it'll blink on. I just do that from time to time to see if it's caught any codes.

I've gotten that oil buzzer when I autox. So has my buddies on different year rx7's. We all topped off our oil to OVER the full line and guess what... The buzzer STILL GOES OFF. Oh well. Hard left turns - Oil buzzer. hard right turns - Coolant buzzer. Hit a hard bump and youve got a blown brake light - stop light comes on. Washer fluid? Damnit that one is ugly as hell.

That's one thing that’ll set it off. There’s a temp switch in the cat that turns on the light once the cat temp exceeds ~230ºF. Excessively rich mixtures that cause fuel to burn in the exhaust will overheat the cat too.

Just rechecked the my car against the FSM, and the JDM warning lights are pretty much identical except there’s no seatbelt or fan warning lights, plus obviously my ‘vert doesn’t have a hatch warning light. Also some of the little pictures are slightly different.
I’ve used the two blank spaces at the left hand end to mount two red LED’s that are hooked up to the diagnostic plug in the engine bay so I can read error codes as soon as they appear. Behind the smoked lense you can’t see them until they light up.
