Acceleration Problems
I have a non-turbo 1986 RX-7 that recently started to hesitate/lose power while driving. It started when I left a location on a Friday, so I drove it home and parked it. When I went to move it on Sunday night it was fine so I drove it to work on Monday Morning with no problem. But when I left work that afternoon the problem occured again and has not stopped. It idles fine but when the RPM nears 2800 in any gear it feels as if there is bad gas in the system. However I shift gears and it is good until I reach 28 to 32 hundred RPM. I looked through the Haynes and it covers a lot of stuff and I am just a novice (the car is just my personal transportation). If you could help me narrow this down I would appreciate it. Feel free to ask more questions. Thanks.

Id start with checking the basics like spark plugs, oil level, voltage (when the problem happens) and the engine codes (remember on a S4 you need to have the engine still on after the problem has occured to read the codes- if you switch the engine off the codes will be erased).
when was the last time you had a tune up???
