ABS PUMP LEAK, is by-pass the anwser?
Hi
I've a FC turbo 2 and the ABS pump/valve body is leaking, By-passing the ABS seems very possible. On inspection i could machine myself a block to connected the hard lines that enter the ABS unit. And for legal reasons in the UK completely remove the pump and valve body. Problem is does the FC have a ABS warning light? and if so will the plan outlined above leave me with a constantly on warning light?
That too would break UK law to drive with ABS warning light.
Anyone done it before?

Heya,
Since i had this problem...BYPASSING is NOT the way to go. IF your going to fix this there is 2 ways to fix it.
1) Get a ABS Pump (new/used/rebuit) and just pop her in.
2) Get a NON-ABS master and get NON abs lines (they are pretty cheap, both the master cylinder and the lines...costed me like 120bucks CDN total) and do that. Those are the properways.
I wouldnt worry about the Legality of doing it with a NON-ABS master, because there are/were RX7's sold without ABS from factory. THere is a ABS light and once you remove the ABS, it will light up, simply remove the ABS computer (beside the ecu) and the light goes away!
The reason bypassing it is not the properway was something to do with the force on each caliper and also the fact thats more of a band-aid fix rather then a proper fix. You just introduced something else that can pose a problem. Would you wanna risk yourlife with a metal block? or do it properly and be safe?
