92 Rx7

Is there an actual model year 92l rx7? I don't care if it is in fact a left over 91 thats being sold as a 92, I want to know if a car ever came with the year 92 on its title, and was sold as a legal 92.

Thanks...

No FC came in a 92 model. 92 RX7s were when they introduced the series 6 body style FD3S.

There are a few verts and Canuck RX-7's that are FC's titled as 1992 year models.

Misinformation is all around.

He is right about some FD's in 92 though.

I stand corrected.

There were a SOME convertibles and a few leftover '91 cars that were badged 92.

1992 was the year they sold any leftover FC and introduced the FD body. To the thread poster, whether your car is a 91 or 92, I don't think it'll hold any significance or real value towards the car. FC RX7s aren't considered collectible cars and there were very little differences between the 89-92 FCs other than options. Nothing enough for value.

Check out the Yamaguchi book.
It states that there were some leftover 1991 models (verts only?) that were sold as 1992 models.

In Japan, the FD was released and sold as a 1992 model.

As posted countless times:

The limited edition 92 verts can be easily distiguished from the 91 verts (or any other verts) by the Tan and Black leather interior (the only color available in the 92 FC vert interior).

FC coupes stopped being built in 8/91. The FD started production in 8/91 however was only sold in the USA as a 93 or later model despite being sold in Japan as a 92 model

i have a 1991 cab that has a tan interior - so should it be a 1992

or does it have to have a tan AND black leather to make it a 1992 ?

The tan is hidous in the picture, but I think it might be ok in person. The reason I was asking is a freind came across a 92 model year FC, and for many other reasons, there was a suspision of fraud. Its a T2, that came from out of state, currently registered in oregon. Why the car is titled as a 92 is unclear, it may have been originaly sold in canada.

Thanks for awnsering the question.

weren't only the s4 turbo called "TII" and after 88 were just referred to as turbo?

If you want to get technical about it, this only applies to the 1991 models?
Sheez, why is this thread still going???

no, he's right. The s5 turbo series (89-91) was referred to as the "Turbo" not T2.

No, again you are wrong.

Only the 91 Turbo was called only the Turbo. The 87-90 Turbos were called the Turbo II.

You (Bama) need to stop posting. In every post of yours I have checked so far today, you have posted wrong or mis-information.

I stand corrected, thanks for clearing that up. Just curious but why would they change it the last year produced?

Yeah.... it had a leather MOMO Turbo steering wheel..which makes sense since ALL 1992 FC were Convertible and Turbo

as long as we're fact checking the FD started production 12/28/91.

the other trivia bit is that there were zero US model 1993 rx7's built in 1993, they were all built in 1992
