'91 NA power stering computer question

I’ve been having difficulties (yes, I admit my technique too J) with power steering, and wondering if there is anyway to modify it.

Well, I have ’91 Vert, and p/s is rpm-sensitive. When I try to go around cones or so heel-toe, steering weight changes dramatically when I drop/raise rpm. Icemark mentioned about p/s computer in another thread, but would that be the part to change to modify p/s to become speed-sensitive as Turbo? If so, how can I do that?

Thanks for any advice… and yes, I know I should also practice to maintain rpm at desired point…

The vehicle speed sensitive power steering systems use a different pump, different rack, the wiring appears to be different (I’ve never seen the VSS/PS plug on a car with engine speed sensitive power steering), and a separate PS specific processor.

If you can find a 1989 GXL or vert parts car, they have the same PS as the S5 TII.

Thanks Marcus F,

I will try to locate one, and see if I can pull everything related out. And before that, I better check exacly what (which parts) needs to be changed.

Though, I wonder why they changed it to rpm sensitive... I think it makes more sense with VSS...
