91 conv t2 worth?

ok well im sorta new to rx7s but i have been looken for a turbo one for awhile now and i just got a offer on a 91 conv that has had a jspec turbo2 engine put into it from a front clip. every thing has been moved over and it looks really well done. the top is in great shape new wheels in great shape. the seats have no rips in them, perfect paint and it runs well. the only problem is it is a salvage title because it was stolen but recovered with only a couple scrapes it was repainted the same color and looks great still. this is also the 2nd owner the body has about 85k on it and the engine only has about 50k on it. i was just wondering what you guys think a car like this should go for.

-thanks
carlos

being as it has a salvage title I wouldn't pay more then 2k for it. You can get a title for it but, getting it will require quite a bit of work on your part. If it had a clean title it would be worth every penny of $4,000.

Considering I see those go for $6k around here.... it all depends on region. Not worth more then $3k salvaged in my neck of the woods.

You guys got it made. Around here any sub 100k FC with decent paint and a good running motor is worth 4k or more. None of them sell for less than 3k.

My 91 TII with 97k miles on it had a new motor and new paint but lots of little problems i paid 5000$ for it.

They are pretty rare up here in minnesota. You can find deals but if you want to fetch 4-5k for a clean FC you can get it here.

91 vert/turbo with a complete t2 drivetrain as long as the interior and body was good and the top was not ripped I would say it could get anywhere from 6-9k. If I had to buy my setup again from someone I would expect to pay around this number because face it the turbo vert is the best of both worlds. Now the title thing is easy. You can use this in your price negotiations but really this is a easy fix. Just go to a bone yard and take the dash off a FC and buy the title from the yard. Should cost about 70 bucks. Register the car under the bone yard title and the rest is custom work you will need a shop to do a estimate to get a larger insurance amount. Or depending on how tuff your state is with inspection this might not even be needed at all. Oh and you don'y need just a vert title, any FC will do.
