Beware. Anyone selling a car with a non-working fuel pump may be hiding a far more serious problem. In other words, if you can't start the car because of a "bad" fuel pump, you can't hear the engine run and you can't test drive the car.

It doesnt say that he was told the fuel pump is bad just that it wont come on this could be a number of issues from tiny to huge. I bought a 10ea with a "blown motor" i replaced the heater core return line cause it had a hole and it runs fine. I no someone else who bought a tII with a "blown motor" he paid for it replaced the fuel pump and drove it home from the guys house that day.

ON a series five only, putting the key to ON will make the pump run for a few moments ONLY.
If you jumper the yellow, two socket fuel pump check connector near the right front strut tower, and put the key to ON, the pump should run continuosly.
Also the fuel pump will run is the key is HELD to START and everything else is fine. HELD is the key word.
