me and my buddy finished taking off the intake manifold on our 87 rx7 turbo II for what we thought was just going to be a gasket replacement... and we found out that the engine is totally full of old dried up crusty fluid... and a it looks like we need a new engine.

we found this website where you can get a 89-91 13b turbo with or with out the trans. id like to go with the newer engine for the added horse power. what all would i need to replace to go with the new engine? would i need the new trans with it?? and what about the ecu and wiring harness?
if anyone has successfully done this swap your help would be much appreciated.

1) read the writeup on rotaryressurection.com. Its a pain to swap an S5 into an S4. It would be allot easier to swap in the S4.
2) Buy from a reputable dealer. Tiger is alright in my book but I've seen a more than a few engines from them and half were rebuild candidates. Only reputable JDM importer that I know of is Japan2LA who's on this forum.
3) Search as this has been covered countless times.

I say keep the S4...unless you plan on making 500+hp I don't think the swap is worth it. Under that you can make the same amount of power as an S5, maybe with more boost. If you just want a little more power with the stock turbo, buy a good condition 6 port block and port match the TII manifolds to it.
