88 SE starting problem... please help

okay.. I attempted to do the 3800 RPM hesitation fix... got it all done got it back together and my engine won't start at all.. it cranks but won't actually turn over.... ive been reading through the forums trying to find out some stuff but nothing helped...

pretty much when i went to turn on the engine it just wouldn't go.. i got out and checked the new wiring running from the pressure sensor and it was burning hot.. i disconnected all of that wiring checked all of the crimped wires in the gang plug and as far as i can see everythings fine.... Please someone give me some advice because I really need to have this car running by tomorrow night.... id really appreciate your help..

edit* I forgot to mention if i'm not mistaken i remember when i would go to turn on the engine and it would start cranking the oil pressure gauge would start moving up.. now its just dead... i really need help with this and you guys are pretty much my only hope

Put a timing light on each leading spark wire and see if you're getting any spark from the coil.

Also deflood if you haven't already.

still need help.. just bumping up the post to see if i someone has any ideas... what im guessing is that i might have messed up the wiring when regrounding the pressure sensor...

it's an 88 SE built in late 87... I've had the 3800 rpm hesitation since i got the car and i just thought id try and fix it.. i followed the instructions to ground the top left wire but the one thing is the color that the wire was supposed to be wasn't right but i figured top left wire i might as well try it.. i tried to start the engine after everything was in touched the ground wire i led down and it was burning hot so i let it cool down took the ground wire off made sure everything was back in the right place and put the gang plug back into the pressure sensor.. still nothing... Did I fry out something or blow a fuse or what? i dont know where to even begin looking but the problem is i need this car done tonight.. its 440 am here in jersey and ima be up all day trying to figure this problem out...

Ah... Found the problem and fixed it.. checked all the wiring all was fine then checked the circuits.. the EGI COMP circuit was dead... replaced it and voila started right up...

The black/white wire is switched 12vdc power.

The ground is either brown with black stripe (BrB) or on later models a pure black wire.

As long as you didn't ground the brown/white wire you probably didn't harm the ECU.

The BLACK/WHITE wire is fed by.....the EGI COMP fuse, something you found out.
