Based on what he describes the oil control rings are shot, as has been stated before. Same with the poster above you. My motor has full compression, probably a little better because of all the oil running around, with blown control rings and the timing is as perfect as it gets. I have very similar issues, though mines a little bit worse off since the fast idle will get it smoking.
Why did they instate the rule about not flaming noobs? I think the flaming did a good job of keeping idiots to a minimum.

However, now that you clarified your response, it seems you're only partially wrong. No, I really doubt that much oil burning could be caused by the loss/damage of an apex seal. I'm not sure how it would, but I can't say it's impossible...
