88 13B in a 90 GXL... How Hard???
I've got a sweet N/A 13B with the 5-speed tranny still attached. I got it from a wrecked (just a crushed pasenger side door) '88 SE 2nd Gen. I'm trying to sell this engine w/ the tranny to help pay for a rebuilt Turbo2 13B to put in my 1990 GXL. If I am not succesfull in selling the '88 13B, how hard would it be to drop it in my 1990 GXL (Which I believe has some bad seals or something going on, possibly overheated, burns oil and dies 60 seconds after I start it up and let it run, plus the tanks 3/4 full of 2-year old gas, but that's a whole other story) and could I just use the GXL's intake and exhaust manifolds and everything and just swap the bad engine for the good? I noticed the difference in the shape of the '88's intake and the '90's intake. I figured I could probably just swap them out, What's your suggestions/ideas/anythings on this? Thanks!

You would have to swap the front cover too, for the electic OMP. But just use your old manifolds, throttle body, etc...
But like he said...I wouldnt really do it. If you cant get a rebuilt 13BT, just get a used one for $800.

Slap the turbo on the 88, use the top intake from TII and the bottom intake from 88 (If 6port). Attach everything else and you are done. you can even use the intercooler. Use the TII injectors also. No big deal...
