87 TII vs 300zx TT
Today I friend finished my exhaust on my 87 TII. I didnt really believe the numbers that were estimating (http://www.mazdatrix.com/r-extii.htm), but I knew it was quick. SO me and my friend went down to the races and lined up with a fairlady-z, my little 1.3 litre ****** raped the Z off of the line and up until about 100MPH/5th gear, the z started to pull away but it a little to late, the race was over, the ****** won.

ya and with an intake and RB exhaust you are probably hitting 15psi and running very lean. hence your power. enjoy your car now as it won't last another week...

1988 300 ZX Turbo 16.4 1/4 mile 8.5 0-60
1996 300 ZX TT 14.4 1/4 mile 6.2 0-60
1990 300 ZX 15.5 1/4 mile 7.0 0-60
there is no chance in hell it ran 13.8 and it was a auto!

maybe he means his bro added on the tt do the n/a engine. Like the eclipse gs turbos - people turbo the n/a version, although in the 300z case I don't know why he wouldn't have just bought the tt to begin with

lol some people view differently what "stock is". Perhaps it consists of a stall and some MT drags
How do you like the nitto drag radials? Have you done a little late night testing with them at all, I'm looking for some drag radials and for the price they seem hard to beat

its a 90 n/a...n/a diff. custom driveshaft mated to jspec TT engine. basically n/a body TT engine.
i dont know where the hell you got 14.5 in the quarter mile, they are rated 13.9-14.2 or so from the factory. also auto's for 300zx TT's have faster 1/4 times than the manuals. dont debate me on this i know what im talking about
....i had the timeslip, but my bro threw it away

Oh and I did a few take-offs with the nittos and they definitely help out. I mean I can hardly spin out too much. Didn't warm them up first or push them too hard but I am impressed over regular tires.

i got those times from http://2ndgenrx7.freeservers.com/performance.html
thats the site everyone bases the times on. They are not rated that fast lol!!!they have 300 hp but they weight 3219 pounds for the n/a model. Stock for stock and 3rd gen would smoke it!! Even though the 300zxtt does the 1/4 time is high 13's will the rx7 does it in 14 flat.
Good job on that time anyways.
ps a car is no longer stock with a engine swap.

Despite their weight, twin-turbo 300ZX’s shouldn’t be underestimated. A mate had a manual one that had twin 3”exhausts, twin S5 RX-7 intercoolers (!), revised intakes, an EBC spinning the stock turbos up to 13.5psi and an ECU remapped for these mods. He got low-13s out of it coz he can’t launch to save himself (can you say wheelspin?!), and the next owner managed high-12’s, all on street tires. Corners are a different story of course!

There used to be a "fast" Z32 that was supposed "HKS Stape 6" mods.  I ran a 13.447 - that thing ran a fastest 13.6.  The anti-squat in the rear suspension makes it a horrible drag platform.  Ask any of the Z32 owners, and they will tell you the same.
The Z32 makes some wicked midrange torque due to the non-sequential turbos (one on each V6 bank), but the stock T25's run out of breath fairly quickly due to their small size.  Nothing short of turbo upgrades (BIG BUCKS) will touch a BPU FC turbo, period.
This HKS Stage 6 Z32 was one of the most notorious street racers in Hawaii.  It made for a killer highway bruiser, but it was easy to beat once you go past 155mph, which the stock ECU had a speed governor on it.
