87 T2 (S4) Exhaust Question

Hey, just installed a full exhaust from downpipe back and was curious as to the effects there will be since there is no place for that tube that goes from the side of the engine down to the side of the cat.

I am unsure if that is fully needed or just get a block off plate and be done with it?

Thanks,
Mike

That pipe pumps air from the airpump down into the cat. It lower's emissions. Without it, you can remove the airpump, and ACV-note, this will require a blockoff plate. And BE SURE you seal the blockoff plate really well with RTV, as it is known to leak on lots of cars.

If you have no cat (or the new cat has no air injection port) then you don't need that pipe, or the air control valve of the side of the manifold, or the air pump. You might as well remove them if you haven't already.
