sure you got that boost gauge hooked up correctly? 40 psi simply isn't possible

I bet he's thinking about the stock guage...it goes up to 40 I believe but you would multiply that times 10 so it would be 400mm of HG. I think 760mm of HG is 1bar.

KABOOM!!!!!!!

Get a good mechanical gauge and check the pressure again. The stock gauge is used for driver entertainment and that's about it.

I don't know of any boost gauge that can read as high as 40 psi.

The stock gauge runs in inches of mercury. My guess at 40, you are at about 8-9 PSI.

I thought it is MM of mercury. And yes 760MM of Hg is one atmosphere. Just learned it in chem.

MMHG - Abbreviation for millimeters of mercury to measure the partial pressure of a gas.

HG being the Periodic symbol for Mercury.

Yes, it corresponds to

One atm, which is 760 mmHG is 14.696 PSI.

The top of the gauge (if its even reading right) is 400 MMHG, or about 7.374 PSI.

I boosted to something like 20 lbs. once when I didn't have my MBC dialed in properly.

I spun my tires and got sideways in a blink, I almost switched lanes sideways!!

lol

lol man that was funny I laughed for a good 10 minutes. Your not hitting 40psi sir, thats your stock gauge and it does not read in psi. If you look really closely youll see it reads in mmhg and that does not equal psi. So next time before you post please try to put more thought and common sense in what your asking. If you knew anything about cars youd know that 40psi is an insainly large amount of boost that most cars cannot achieve.

You seem really grumpy for someone who just "laughed for a good ten minutes".
Give the guy a break.
