'87 Base Modle (Throtle problem, starting problem, etc.)

I'm new, I know i should have searched a lot more then I have but I'v ben though quite an ordeal... I'm really tired, just moved from Texis to Cali and have to get going towards Idaho soon... I'm no mechanic, I know verry little. I'v red all I could find on rotery 101...

Let's start with the car... It's an '87 BASE modle. Were talken no factory extras any were that I know of. Now I picked this crazy thing up for $650 running off of a lot... It had some mager cosmetic problems but it's desent, sort of, now... I and a friends uncle that I was staying with in Texis fixed a lot of the body damnage. I know it has ben recked before do to residue frame damage in the funt bumper area. The previuse owner got into a bind with the lot owner, was back a fiew payments and exchanged the car to make up for his lake of payments... He was fixing this car up. It's got aftermarked roters, spindals, brakes, rims, spark coils, probly spark plugs, and most likely more that I don't know about yet.

The problems I nead to adress now that I know off the top of my head...
- I loose acseleration after 3500 RPM's compleatly if i press the pedle down to far, have to be EXTREAMLY jentle. Cant evin press it down half way.
- It's extreamly hard to start the car after it's ben runing for a while and the engine is good and warmed up.
- Randomly seams to just loose all its oil. The oil consumption does not seam to be bassed on number of tankes of gass. Oil slowly goes down with gass as I would figure to be prity normal for a car of its age and then BAM out of no were its got NO oil it for some unknown reson?

Thinges I have done to it...
- Changed the oil to 30w -50 (I'm prity sure it was) with a quart of Lucus engine oil. Didn't change the oil finter, do to lack of a second matching oil filter and bolth money and time...
- Adjusted the idle some. Resons, was idleing at about 1300, tried to get it down to 900 as sugested in a manual the uncle had about FC's... This one done by mechanics... Not me... Though they know nothing of rotery's other then they are wierd and pistonless. Idles now at around 1300 still with hardly any rattle and no popping noises...
- Added carberate/fule injecter cleaner and gas treatment... It had ben sitting a for a verry long time.
- Installed a new starter that came with the car, old one VERRY dirty about shot looking... Helped the starting a lil'.
- Installed a new master cilinder, old one went out and started leaking.
- Installed new batery.
- Checked air intake sistem for leaks as best as I could finding nothing pointing towards a leek in the rubber ducting/toobing.

Thats all I can really think of that I (with assistense) have done.

I honistly don't really evin know were to begin.... It has ben, all considerd, a tank for raliability sence it has taken me from Texis to Mexico to Texis to Cali; asaid from the extreem difaculty to get it to start again when the engine is warm. But I know it neads a LOT done to get it running well again... As I am sure it has once ran normaly.

Please be kind I REALLY nead any and all help... I will provide as much info as I posibly can. Feal free to PM with questions about me, my car, or about any thing else. I littleraly JUST arived here and ben with out the internet for quite a while, and I'v had basickly no sleap for the past 3 or 4 days...

Sorry for all of the spelling/grammer mistakes... Thanks a million in advansed.

Really, and the introduction class couldn't even teach you how to spell it?

Aftermarket spindles?

Sounds to me like an AFM or pressure sensor.

It's extreamly hard to start the car after it's ben runing for a while and the engine is good and warmed up.
Probably has low compression and/or leaky fuel injectors. Installing a fuel pump switch will help to start the car when its hot by preventing/helping prevent flooding, but it won't fix the root of the problem (the low compression and leaky/sticky fuel injectors)

Randomly seams to just loose all its oil. The oil consumption does not seam to be bassed on number of tankes of gass. Oil slowly goes down with gass as I would figure to be prity normal for a car of its age and then BAM out of no were its got NO oil it for some unknown reson?
Beats me, other than saying is really not possible to have slow consumption, then lose 3 litres, then have slow consumption, then lose 3 liters. Do you see any puddles of oil? Does the car smoke when it runs?

Thinges I have done to it...

wait wait....you couldn't syncronise 10-15 dollars with an oil filter, but yet you managed to purchase the oil required to change it? Again I refer to "rotary 101"....money money money - hehe

Adjusted the idle some. Resons, was idleing at about 1300, tried to get it down to 900 as sugested in a manual the uncle had about FC's
Factory idle is 750...

You've got a lot of things that need be addressed, I would first check out the 60,000 mile tune up in the archives and reading through the FAQ for FC sticky. There will be much helpful info in there...good luck!

Thanks a LOT! I'm looking for a scrap yard for parts right now.

I don't know about the compression but I think the injectors have ben replaced... I have a second injector thing that came with the car... But I bleave it's the old one?

Yeah... The spindals have ben changed and its got 5 lug K something or other raceing wheels on it and huge yellow calipers... They're probly worth more then car...

I have to leave for Idaho like tomarro night or the next night if possible... It used to smoke a lot and back fire like crazy, it stoped doing that after messing with the 3 things for adjusting the idle, changeing the oil, and running it. This was a tiny town out side of Wako that has nothing in for rx-7's or any thing like that... Just newer cars, old trucks, and mo-par stuff. We had a week to get it ready to go...
