Sorry if i sound dumb i apologize i am just new to the Rotarys i have just delt with Hondas that is about it. Anyways i went out and chcked the car it just has the 5 lug bolt pattern with the 15 inch rims on it, no boost gauge on the stock cluster. So there for it must have the turbo drive train i am assuming. So alls i need is to put a knock box in there for the turbo motor? where can i obtain one of these? And if i get a Turbo tranny with jspec motor offline with harness and computer to that engine it should bolt right up?
I mean sorry so many questions i just want to get this car done quick because at this point i have the money to order the engine and stuff just have to make sure the car is ready for it to go in. The body kit and paint job it doesnt need right now.

You have a naturally aspirated car on your hands with the naturally aspirated drivetrain.
This car is not ready for anything. It's most likely a POS you found on the side of the road. The people who have the most problems with rotaries are the people who know nothing about them and then go buy cars in unknown condition. There could be all sorts of grounding problems, bad sensors, etc. You have no idea how well this car was taken care of, and if you buy a Jspec motor you have no idea what condition that will be in.
This is not like picking up a beater 240sx and dropping an sr20det in it. You have to be more careful with an Rx-7. [/thread]

Ok well i am going to still go with my gut because i may be new to the rotary but i am not a idiot that cannot figure it out. Not sure if that is what is being pointed towards me. Anyways the car is in great shape! there is no motor in it but is in GREAT shape. Anyways someone just point me to the thread on how to swap a 13b turbo motor in a Rx7 with a Turbo drive train and tranny already linked to the car thanks

Splines
It is not a matter of i have counted the splines, i am basing it off of the owners word. Once i buy the car i will check that. That is not a problem i am just speaking in terms of What If? i mean because obviously putting a turbo motor in a car (IF IT IS A TURBO) drive train is going to be alot less work than putting it in my N/a car.
I will count the splines to make sure. Either way i will buy the car friday if it is a Turbo or N/a because the body needs not even a little bit of body work for a 87

NA cars also came with 5 lug options. In fact it's harder to see 4 lug ones more often than 5 lugs.
S4's had GXL and GTU which were 4 lug.
The SE or base model were 4 lug.
Every single part of the engine and driveline are different between NA and turbo.
The transmission for a NA has smooth sections on it while the TII is ribbed.
The driveshaft/rearend/and halfshafts are smaller than the TII.
The Clutch slave cylinder bolt pattern placement is staggered on NA's
The EFI harness is a different path and has wires used for other items. I used a TII and modified it to work on the interior plug.
The flywheel/clutch/starter are different
The boost sensor is different.
A TII swap is not for the newcomer. I recommend loving your FC as is for a while until you learn the normal problems then think about either swapping or buying a TII car.
Actually. Here is a TII tranny as a reference.

count the splines, the only way to confirm the transmission. If you have the turbo trans, then all the other parts are turbo behind because the trans and driveline and diff were all different lengths bewteen the turbo and non. You don't know **** without confirming it and if you go on the owners word, then you are setting yourself up for a let down.
