Question '86 GXL Stereo Question

First off, I think ya'll would be proud of me. My GXL hadn't been started for over two years-changed all the fluids, and filters, and plugs(filled the housing with oil and turned it over by hand first), and still no go. Primed the TB and it kicked but wouldn't run, checked fuel lines- no fuel, changed the fuel filter, still no fuel. Pulled the fuel pump out of the tank and cleaned it out with solvent(the impeller wouldn't even turn at first), cleaned out the tank(fuel had turned to clay), put it all back together and YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!(zoom zoom zoom)
Anyway the question. I need to connect some audio devices to the stock GXL stereo(PDA,portable CD, etc.) and was wondering if anybody has any info on tapping into the inputs to the amplifier before the equalizer(I have a shop manual that shows some possibilities but I'm looking for expienced advice).
And no, I won't put in a new audio system. This baby stays stock(until I put in a 20B)!
Anybody?

what audio system do you have?

Eq? AE? CD? AM/FM Logic cassette, AM/FM mechanical cassette.

The audio system is not the AE system. I think I have the mechanical auto-reverse cassette deck, with the AM/FM radio and EQ. No CD.
