86 GXL fuel problem

I'm new and this may have been covered. I recently bought an 86 GXL to do a motor swap b/c the guy said it had a blown apex seal. I was just curious and did a compression test and it came to spec. I got a few new parts and poured a little gas in the throttle body and coaxed the car into cranking long enough to burn that gas. So I got a new fuel pump but still couldn't get it to run unless I poured gas in it. I am getting plenty of fuel pressure but my injectiors just aren't getting any fire to open. Any idea if and where a fuel injection relay may be? And someone also told me it may be the crank angle sensor but it cost twice as much as i paid for the car so i'll save it for later. Also all my fuses seem fine but i replaced them just incase Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
JT
