8000 rpm coldstart ?_?

I just finished rebuilding my engine and I installed the s5 intakes and removed ps and ac. I'm using the alt relocation kit from pineapple racing. I also relocated my battery.

The car started and after a second reved to 8000 rpm(I don't know because my meters have no power) I had to pull the maf plug to shut her off.

The room fuse keeps blowing and I can't find the short, I have been confused by haynes wiring diagrams. I have found a few good ones online.

and I didn't have a proper gasket for my thermostat neck so coolant was spray out.

So then I unplugged my alternator and the car doesn't seem to have any power.

I need help -_-

edit: I forgot to say that the headlights work, hazzards, turn signals, and the dimmer but the gauge needles don't move
(but now that I unplug my alt nothing works but there is power coming from the battery)

i'd check the throttle and cruise control cables if your car is just bouncing off the rev limiter like that.

if it was floodingwith fuel it couldn't rev
it's got to much air

one of the throttle plates looked a little more open than it was suppose to be, I took off the tb and everything looked fine.

Now what if I didn't hook the coldstart vac lines correctly?
could that cause the engine to rev like that?

I dunno, can the thermowax actually push the throttle far enough to reach those RPMs?

No. The fast ifle cam it controls only raises it a little.

throttle linkage is bound up somehow. inspect the throttle plates, they should all be just about fully closed.

Ya your secondary plates shoudl be completly closed and your primary should be open only a hair. If your engine hits 8000 rpm, then something has to be wrong with the throttle body or the throttle linkage.

Either that, or a vaccume leak. Had the same problem with my FD. Couldn't find the problem, but after I replaced EVERY vaccume line, it stopped.

this is not an FD!

this is not a vacuum leak!
3rd gens use a MAP sensor not an AFM, HUGE difference..

I fixed the wiring problem, I was a steve and hooked up four connectors wrong because it was hot as a bastard and I can be a steve sometimes
I like to say there ya go stevie

(rules of a steve)
if you think someone is stupid call them steve

Refer to yourself as steve
