6000 rpm hesitation?

well the other day i met up with some buddys for a cruise around town, it was basicly a 240 mini meet with my FC tii and my friends 20 Valve 86 as filler, all the 240's had a sr20, or a rb26 with blah blah blah, anyways they were fast, i basiclly burned 2/3 of my full tank in bout a hour, need less to say i was mashing the fun peddle for quite a while... and i noticed that when it hit 6000 rpm there was a slight hesitation, i know that this problem was in the 3rd gen but i never heard of it in a 2nd gen?

i did a search, didnt find much can anybody help me out?

well, 3000 rpm hesitation is pretty common, and the cause of that is usually bad grounding, so you could check that out i guess.

I've got the same but on an NA. I think my problem is exhaust restriction.

Clogged fuel filter or air filter maybe. Maybe your injectors are getting maxed out or something. Have they been cleaned recently?

I also have the same problem but on a n/a like imischeifin. Its very quick though it dosent lag as long as it did when I had the 3000 one. I have basicly the same mods as you apexdrift except I have msd,msd wires, K&N cone, and some mapping changes. Do you have your air pump, acv, ect.....? o yea you have a turbo nevermind.

Hmm - Intake & exhaust mods - with no fuel mods, boost gauge, ported waste gate?

Hesitation? - maybe boost creep & lean out..

Sounds kinda like the same dumb thing I did.
Lots of fun, but really hard on the motor.

A rebuild or J-spec is in your near future.

um yeah. I'm an NA guy and I know that. check out the archives. get a walbro 255, get 660 or 7~something CC secondaries, port your wastegate, and a tough clutch are all in order.

oh and I could do all of that in one day 'cause I'm bad and all. oh and I have to same damn problem with my NA only its at 5,000rpm. my injectors are all junkyard pieces so I am gonna have em cleaned. none of my garage cleaning methods have worked so I have sent some off to cruzin.

I sprayed mine with brake fluid cleaner, probably didn't do much. Oh well, at like $2 a can I'm not losing much.

keep this up and you're gonna need a rebuild soon.

running full exhaust and intake, your secondaries will max out and you're going to lean out your engine. spitting fire?? thats a good indication. be smart and do some fuel mods.
