Anyway, I figure that its worth a few hp, and I might as well try it for 50 bucks. I sent them in for them to install it, its free, plus about 8 bucks shipping total. If I ever get to a dyno, and they will let me, I will get a before and after dyno. There is a place nearby that just got a dyno, so I might go out there for ***** and giggles sometimes if the price is reasonable.

You seem like a logical guy. We both know dyno sheets can be easily faked these days.
Second, if the design is flawed, why is the design in RX8.
We have sold over 400pr. More important than what a manufacturer says is what the end user says. Most of the sales are from referrals....
If you want to buy a pair and test them, by all means. If you don't like the results for any reason, you can return them...for a full refund. I will even cover the gaskets/postage. Just return the parts. The only thing I ask is you publish results w/ all the data, incl. a/f ratios etc.
My goal is to be helpful here. Let me know what will help you out! rob

Helpful? No.
That's just my opinion. I asked for the race test data he talked about, but didn't get a reply. It might of just got mixed in with random other emails or something, but who knows.

I doubt Rob will actually read this, but I feel like responding anyway, if only to expand the debate.
A real world track test would be swapping the inserts in at the track, so that all the variables (car, driver, weather, etc) are eliminated as far as practical. AFAIK that didn't occur. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Like I said, not really worth the hassle of removing them. It's highly unlikely they'll affect performance negatively so there's little point just for $50.
All the theory says flow should be improved. That's not what's being debated.
So can race results... That's still no reason to not do it at all. If that was everyone's attitude the internet wouldn't have any product info in it, because nobody would believe it.
Nobody is saying it's flawed. We just want to know how much effect they have.
Haven't we already covered that with the original request?

Man even if this guy did post dyno results you'd all still nay say him. Just shut up and don't get the things. I'm sure the factory made the stock sleeves for the low tooling cost of the 6PI sleeve. Radiusing always improves flow even at the cost of a little diameter. You wouldn't have a 90* bend in your exhaust would you

Mazda did a lot just to shave a few HP out of the s5 intake. You think they wouldn't notice a cheap-to-fix 3HP pipe bend?? I know our exhausts and intakes aren't perfect, but that's because of old muffler, cat, etc. technology. The exhaust and intake on an RX-8 leaves very little room for improvement. Removing pipe bends is not new technology.
I work with fluids at my internship and I can't believe that the losses through a bend in a large diameter pipe would be significant at all.
