4k Idle, not going down
Alright, when i start my car, it idles up to 4,000 RPM and doesn't go down. My AFM gate is stuck open after i start the car, but when it's off, it closes fine and opens all the way fine. Also, My Air Bypass Solenoid Valve is... well off. The little electrical connector isn't on anymore because the wires were hardened and just broke off, so nothing is over the tubes they used to have. I don't know how to fix that. Any ideas?

I think J-Rat is thinking of the AWS (accelerated warmup system). This is when you start your car cold it idles up to 3K for ~20 seconds to warm up the precat for emissions purposes. If this is what it is doing, start your car in gear and that will defeat the AWS system.
To everyone wondering about this: Do NOT let your cars do this. It is hard on the engine to rev it cold to 3K; Mazda only did it to pass cold start emissions.

alright, we've figured out that we can just tube up the two nipples together. we found the reason it's so high is that the throttle isn't going all the way back to idle position, we know it's not the dashpot seizing up, it moves in slow and out fast, we're gonna make sure nothing is catching, any other ideas
