3800rpm hesitation...
Yes I know this is in the FAQ, but I still have a question. I just bought my RX7 last night, you can see its info below in my sig. So I drove it before and I knew about the hesitation, but I thought, its okay, I can fix that, the rest of the car is in too good of condition to pass it up. So I'm working on trying to find a place to get me some new ground connection, no place has them...Pep Boys said they have universal sets but can't tell me the price 'cause they have to match them up, the Mazda dealer told me they'll look at it, but I have no idea how much that'll cost. Price is very important to me, so does anybody have an idea on how much it cost to replace these or clean them..or better yet, something that I can do myself. I know its the ground connections, because they are being severed at the battery, but the battery is still producing a lot of volts according to the gauge. I called around looking for spark plugs for the car, nobody has them except for the mazda dealer, $8 a peice, are they supposed to be that expensive? Also, finally, what is the deal with the "trailing" and "leading" spark plugs?
Yes I know its a lot of questions, thanks for all of your help guys!

a regular wire will do for a ground all you ahve to do is splice it in and put it onto a ground. Do it yourself having someone else do something this simple is kinda foolish since it is very simple. NGK plugs are around 5-10 dollars depending which ones and where you get them but yes that is the normal price. Leading and trailing plugs have slightly differing purposes. I beleive the trailing is for the tach signal and burning the last bit of charge in the chamber as it is not covered completly by one plug.

Its that simple? Great I'll take care of that myself this weekend. Okay so where can I find the rest of the ground connections that look to be causing the problem?
So am I supposed to get the leading or trailing plugs, or just the 4 that mazda gives me? Thanks again.

You should get a set of four with 2 leading and 2 trailing. If they don't give you them this way ask for the proper ones.
There is a thread in the ARCHIVES that deals with grounding and has photos for you to look at.

The ECU has ground. The grounds are located on top of the rotor housings using a ring terminal. So you want the battery to be grounded to the chassis and the engine. The connection from the battery to the engine is located on the long bolt on the starter. Its a large black/yellow wire. The battery to chassis is the same black/yellow wire from the battery to a connection just below your left strut tower.
The coils/ignitors are grounded through the metal housing the coil/ignitors are located in. The four bolts that hold the ignitor/coils in place on the chassis ARE the ground for the coil assy's. The coils will not fire if you unbolt the coils and rest them on say a rag or suspend them in mid air.
In the archeives above....there is a fellow called RXSTR or RXSTER, and he had a good method of grounding the ground wires that exit the ECU (additional ground for the wires other than the ones on top of the rotor housing).
Injectors will hesitate if the secondary injector plugs have been replaced with a crimp on plug. And the crimp is inadequate/bad/ corroded/ stuffed.
