Exclamation 3800 rpm wall! HELP

so i just replaced all of my injectors, and while i was down there i regrounded the housings. didnt have a problem with this on my other car, so i dont think the grounding is the problem. while i was pulling the uim off, i didnt realize that there was a clip for the vacuum hardlines there, and even though nothing appears wrong, i suspect its causing my problem. basically if i drive the car for 30 seconds, theres no problem, after i run through the gears, hitting 3800 is like hitting a wall and the car revs very very slowly. if i let off the gas i can feel power surge for an instant then it droops again.
there are no ecu codes showing, and ive checked all connections, vaccuum line connection etc. i havent looked at the vacuum hard lines under the uim yet, b/c im hoping its going to be an easier fix than that. also i noticed after 3800 rpm, my afm goes nutz. just nutsz.
please help. do you think this sounds like vacuum leak? i just put in new injectors so itd better not be that. car runs great for like a minute, then bad bad things happen.

also car is an 86 se.
also, intermittently can feel car surge above 3800, just slightly.

its not a hesitation, it just stops revving. im wondering if anyone thinks that accidentally bending the vaccuum hardlines could cause a leak that would prevent the 5&6ports from opening. the two lines out of the acv control that right? what lines control the 5&6 ports, could i have broken a solenoid on the other side of the motor?> and i am searching right now, but it would save my butt to have someone let me know whats up.

The 5/6th ports not opening would not cause it to stop revving.

My TII did this and it drove me nuts! Turns out that some of the wires were exposed and touching near the injector plug. Check it out.

yea. thats my point. what controls the 5&6 ports. im aware that it has something to do with the acv. which solenoid line should i be checking? it was working 4 hours ago, before the uim pull.
would you recomend just doing a vacuum hardline bypass?

The 5/6th ports are opened by exhaust back pressure. There should be a vacuum line coming off your split air pipe (I believe) that runs to them.

so im looking in the wrong place? is it that really really small line that goes into the lim on the pass side?

just a note. theres no backfiring or anything. car runs great for like a minute, revs all the way, then the problem starts.

is there a quick way i can wire my ports open to see if thats the problem?

This is obviously injectors. If the car hits a wall at 3800, then your secondaries aren't coming on... check the plugs on your injectors for a good connection.

Lack of 5/6 port actuation does not cause the car to become much slower. I ran without actuation for a few years before devising an electronic adjustable system...

rofl. thats why im so pizzzzed!!!! i have to order ANOTHER SET and wait ANOTHER WEEK ARHG.. the whole reason i did the injector swap was b/c i had leaky secondaries. is it even possible for both of them to fail? when i ordered them, i got centered tab. will that cause my problems? im assuming centered tab is just the little tab, on the plug right?

im kinda recoiling in fear of flames right now.

No, you don't need new injectors. You need to get the ones you have now properly working.

This sounds exactly like the classic 3800rpm hesitation which is caused by bad grounds (I think, have to double check).

i just replaced the bellhousing-chassis ground. i also added rear rotor-battery ground and front rotor-battery ground.

im going to check the injector voltage for 14v at idle.

so were assuming this is indeed injectors. still, any ideas why they only work for the first minute of operation?

im taking off for the night. ill check in tomorrow. im going to check the injector voltage and im going to check the resistor packs in case i might have jostled them.

Checking the injector voltage at idle probably won't help. I'd have to check on the way the load is worked. In general though, you need to test the voltage on your secondaries. You can check it at idle, but see what it's doing while you get this hesitation. Wayne has a great write up on how to test stuff at the ECU.
