2nd gen saftey

k, i realy want to get an rx7 2nd gen. prefered, but my mom just got in her 3rd accident in her honda (shes okay) but now she is paranoid about the saftey of the saftey. so what i am looking for is are they safe cars? good saftey ratings?

has anyone ever been in an accident in their 2nd gen, what was the result, injury damage to the car?

thx for you help

i know if a few people that have and were fine. the big thing is to get good tires as the car has a tendency to try to drift, but only in the rain. once you get used to it it will be easy to deal with. they are great cars, can stop on a dime ans are fun as hell to drive.
enjoy

^ i can vouch for the "stop on a dime" part. I dont know about the lower rx7 models i have the best 7 brakes on my GXL

What a silly question to ask. Any accident is serious, injury to car or person. Buy a tank and be guaranteed to walk away. No matter what you drive, there is always the "other driver" you have to be aware of. If you're looking for a guarantee, stay in bed. A plane hasn't fallen on a house in a long time. Just knock on wood, it doesn't fall in my bed. And just for your information, I have owned my car for 5 months now, FC3C, n/a, and have been hit twice already. Neither my fault, but won't sell my car due to others negligence. I wanted to have it repainted anyway. PEACE RUF RUF RUF RUF RUF

I actually got rear-ended last fall. The RX-7 held up great, the person that nailed me in some mid-size Dodge had to be towed away due to the extensive front end damage. Damn bitch said she was lighting her cigaratte and didn't see the stopped traffic, it was all I could do to prevent myself from committing murder that day!!!! I've bought my RX-7 brand new in 1989 and up till 2004 it had never been in an accident.

The frame was fine, and the body shop did a great job putting it back together.
