250whp in an FC

can anybody think of a setup that put my gxl at or close to 250 rwhp. my enigne isthe original with only 74k on it but but i plan on swappin transmissions cuz i got the auto (if its possible?). but i really want 250 at the wheels. I only want realistic mods that i can buy, no homemade crap, or anything that makes my car act funny or sound wierd.

the only mods i really see are intake and exhaust so is the 250 hp to optimistic

When you swap trannies be sure to get a TII transmission and maybe the rear end. Do all the bolt ons and upgrade the fuel system and get a 125 shot of nitrous. That will set you at about 250rwhp. Just make sure you start small with the nitrous, like a 50 shot and work bigger as you get used to it and learn more about it.

With just intake and exhaust that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to optimistic. You would have to break into the motor and do some porting to hit 250rwhp. And that would have to be some major porting. Then just about all the bolt on mods you can find

Not really. If you used a stage shot once you start getting into big #s (like a 50 then 100) there is less shock to the engine. Which is generally what causes damage. Nitrous is basically just forcing more oxygen into the motor, just like a turbo. Except nitrous cools the charge and turbos heat it.

nitrous itself will not tear up your engine. All nitrous does it supply more oxygen to the engine so consequently more fuel can be added. If used in moderation your engine will be fine. this is true especially becuase if your porting your motor, its getting rebuilt anyway. Also being a non turbo, you dont really have to worry much about massive stress on the engine.

Put that nitrous on, and tune the car before you go out and detonate. You'll be fine.

I've got almost everything done to my N/A that you can do; less standalone (which I was about 4 hours away from doing) and a lightweight flywheel. I'm even MAKING parts for the FC so I can put one more thing on it. After all of this, I doubt that I'll see over 200HP. So, after I'm done making my parts, etc... I'm throwing a bottle on it 50-75-125 shot (I'll have a selection)

To run a 50 wet shot would you need to do much fuel system upgrading if any? And what about a 75 wet shot? Wondering cause I wanna install a kit eventually, after I do most of my other mods.

Maybe a tii fuel pump. The great thing about a wet kit is it adds its own fuel. You just need to maintain fuel pressure

226HP with a EFI webber style setup & a haltec F10. 221HP with a old school delllorto, nad the powerband is WAYYYYYYY better than the EFI webber setup.

BTW - This is on a street ported 6 ports, can't imagine the the results on a 4 port

To be honest the only way I see you making that kink of HP with the 6 port motor is:
- Rebuild with street port
- True dual exhaust
- Carburetor
- And lots of tune time on the dyno

This might get you to 250 crank hp but probably not. What are you using the car for? N/A’s are good all around “sports” cars not Mustangs, Camaros, or Vetts. Check this post out might find it useful. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=153873

filter would proly give you like 5-6hp no more IMHO
with gutted cats you might be at 130rwhp if you are lucky the 146 is at the flywheel. You would need headers and no cats whatsoever and a good set of mufflers to see 140 at the wheels.

Just about everyone who doesn't know a thing about nitrious thinks that it's gonna rip engines apart. As long as they're used properly, they're actually more reliable than forced induction (turbo or supercharger). If you go dry application, use small doses. No more than a 50 shot. If you go wet, you can go all out as long as you feed in the right amount of fuel. Shoot, I'm getting fuel injectors from Holley and they're a bolt up kit so that I can snap in a wet nos (holley owns NOS) system right with my injectors! I'll be running a 75 shot by the end of summer. Manufactures make it cake to set up nitrious. All you have to do is NOT abuse it! You want big power, there it is. Only prob is you gotta refill the damn bottle when you run out... Use it wisely!

that has got to be NICE! Congrats and good luck. To be completely honest, if it's like a couple of G's fat, you should sell the n/a and get yourself a t2... money WELL spent..
