Nitrous is a very good, very easy, and fairly cost effective alternative to power moders on a non-turbo block that makes a big difference.

Indeed it is at least some improvement and been race proven non-the less. You can argue it down or up all you want makes no difference just shows opinions until someone pulls a dyno slip out.

revhi - I think what Bukwild said is correct for the most part. Except for a few examples, the 200 rwhp N/A is a "myth". Sure people have done it, but not without throwing large amounts of time, money, research, etc. into it. Its not something you can just "bolt on" and all of a sudden you have 200 rwhp. For example - Kahren hit 200 rwhp but designed his own intake manifold and did a lot of tuning, which I'm sure took a lot of time and research. If you want an easy 200 rwhp, then turbo your N/A or do a TII swap...those are "bolt on" mods for the most part.
What it comes down to is that their really isn't a cheap way to make 200 rwhp for your application since nitrous isn't really an option for auto-x. Full (header-back) exhaust, intake, and a standalone EMS (as mentioned, the megasquirt is cheap, but its a DIY kit that requires you to build it from the ground up) will get you close to 200 rwhp, but you're still $1000+ in the hole...and the megasquirt requires A LOT of time and research to build, install, and tune. A TII swap or turbo N/A will cost you even more than that. Good luck.

the car with the custom intake manifold is my own and that did 180whp to date.it has stock ports and an e6k
the other local car is not mine, he has a stock s4 ecu, s5 streetported motor that i built and t2 intake manifold port matched to the 6 port engine (since he eventually wanted to go turbo) and the car put down 195whp but it was running lean up top so i backed off early and we had to leave the dyno untill bigger injectors were put in, i will soon be going back to the dyno with both of these cars to see how much more power i can get out from both of them.
here is a link to my dyno https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/6-port-dyno-stock-ports-custom-intake-manifold-e6k-358038/
and here is the link to his dyno https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/na-6port-streetport-dynoed-195whp-update-418805/

My bad...thanks for clearing that up Kahren. ![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Impressive numbers nonetheless...I'm glad to see that people are trying to make power with the 6 port. IMO its just not for someone who's looking for the easy route or for someone who is easily discouraged.

^^ I agree w/Aaron. The MegaSquirt will allow you to ditch the AFM and use the built-in MAP sensor for load. I have also read that an S5 TPS can be used for load, but I'm not too sure about the specifics. Either way, you get to remove one of the most restrictive sections of the intake AND tune fuel and ignition (muythaibxr has tested using a stock CAS, stock leading coil, and was recently working on the leading/trailing timing split).
