2 seater !!

My 87 is a 2+ 2 with the rear seat. I really like the look of a two seater better. Is it practical to convert the rear seat to boxes ?

I'd just remove the rear seats and leave the rear with bare metal. I like cars with stripped interior.

No way unless you are doing it for weight reduction don't do it!!!! SImply find the nearest recked car and pull out the neccesarry pieces!!! try and find color that matches your interior! Plus they are handy as hell to hide 10'subs!!! just open them when you get it close them when you get out!

Do I just need the boxes or is there some sort of framework to support them ?

The storage bins are screwed onto a fiberglass shell. The shell is bolted to the car by 10mm bolts. You will need the shell, bins and the carpet. Oh, and don't forget the little plastic clips that hold the carpet to the shell.

You might want to get the parts from a series 4 car. Although the series 5 fiberglass "shelf" that the bins screw to will work in your series 4, that fiberglass from a series 5 is not as wide at the point near the backs of the front seats.

The difference is because of the electric motors for the seatbelts being mounted in the sides of the car right there.

What color do you need?

Good Info. I've had both, but never taken either the seats or the bins out.

It's really easy to do--I did it. It takes about fifteen minutes to take out the whole rear seat assembly. Yes, that framing can hide 10 inch subs. But not my fifteens
