2 exhaust broken studs.. Help

2 exhaust broken studs.. Help
So i have 2 broken studs and they are broken off in the engine of my turbo II . I've tried all I could but no luck. So Im going to end up pulling the motor and having it brought to a machine shop. and Possibly have it rebuilt. From what I know about the car it has 160k original. So its due for one although it still has good compression and drives great.
So my question is with 2 exhaust studs will I be able to limp it 10 miles to my buddies house where we are going to pull the motor? Or should I just have it towed there. and towing for me isnt too easy as the car is in a underground garage and not really want to pay for towing.

Running the motor with 2 big pieces of metal in it will gouge the hell out of the housings & rotors, followed by complete destruction of the turbo hotside. Unless you have brand new everything for a rebuild, don't even think about driving it.
Have you tried using a pole mounted magnet to fish them out through the exhaust ports? You might get lucky and save yourself a few grand.

OP, if nothing has fallen inside the actual engine you should be able to make it 10 miles, just don't push it, don't boost, and try not to let it sit real long. The object will be to keep the engine bay from getting too hot, and to that end, boosting/running hard may dump fuel that could end up burning in your engine bay.

No they didn't fall inside the engine. THey are broken off like when I tried to take off exhaust manifold the studs snapped.
Now by let it sit too long. Do you mean let it Idle? or just remain on the engine. Cause my plan was to put it all back together. Drive it work which is the halfway point about 5 miles between my house and his. Then after work limp it the rest of the way there.
I'm not so sure he meant they snapped off and fell into the engine. He might have meant that, but maybe not. It sounded to me that they snapped close to the block so they are hard to extract. It's a good point the OP should clarify.

Yeah I mean don't let it idle too long, just try to keep moving if you can in the hopes that air gets cycled through the engine bay. Which bolts are broken? Upper? Lower? One of each? Because having upper ones broken will be a little worse than the lower ones. However, just 5 miles you could be ok. I'd say keep an eye on your temperature, oil pressure, and make sure everything else is ok. It may run a little weird and probably a bit loud, but unless the gap is like a 1/4" or more I'd think you should be able to make two 5 mile trips.

See if the studs broke near the nut side. That's where they tend to go. Remove the other two nuts (use lots of penetrant stuff). With the manifold off, you may have enough stud(s) left to remove the studs from the engine.
Having said the above, you mentioned you'd like to rebuid the engine anyway, and it's always a good idea to rebuild before they blow. Don't want to discourage that.
