1990 GTU won't go HELP!
1990 GTU 5 Speed. idles good and I can run up the RPMs when it's not in Gear. When it's in gear and I accelerate the RPMs drop off and the car acts like it's not getting fuel. The car doesn't stall or quit once I push in the clutch it still idels and reeves just find. The check engine light comes on and stays on until I turn the car off. Once the car is restarted no Check Light until I put it under a load again. The CPU check won't give me a code it seems to think everything is okay..so I'm stuck. Any help??? Thanks

It *MAY* be a clogged fuel filter.. perhaps even the in-tank one, but check the main one first. Maybe your fuel pump isn't getting enough voltage. The connector is on the rear driver's side strut tower--with your car on, check the voltage there. You want it up near ~12V, but it's probably less. You may want to consider rewiring it.
Other than that, it could be a clogged air filter, or an intake leak. Maybe a fouled plug, bad wire, or bad igniter. Does your idle sound okay? Did you do anything funny right before it started acting weird?

Be careful of that code 27!! A bad OMP WILL destroy your engine. Get it fixed ASAP!
---------------------------Code 27 ------------------------------
-Open or Short circuit between engine control unit and stepping motor.
-Loose connection of metering oil pump connector or engine control unit.
-Open or short circuit in stepping motor wiring.
-Stepping motor sticking.
-Position sensor accuracy loss.
-Engine control unit voltage lack.

Rotary Freak
Get a manual.
Read the 2nd Gen FAQ:
http://www.teamfc3s.org/faq/FAQ.html
http://home.rmci.net/panther/tech.htm
89-91 codes:
http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html
Look up the codes and check the Factory Service manual for the test and replacement procedure.
Dont drive the car like this, its running in LIMP mode because an important part of the engine is not working.
A part that if left unfixed, would most likely blow the engine.
